GOOD TO SEE SO MANY BEES...
They have been working hard all day covering themselves in pollen as they busily go from flower to flower. There are four large pumpkins so far and it will be interesting to see if they produce any more... but, I have my doubts as it's probably too late in the season.
The vine hopper is not the most welcome visitor... he seems happy enough to sit alongside this pumpkin as it grows up among the hibiscus. Spraying the nymphs with detergent keeps the numbers down and just a few squirts added to water does the trick.
I am sure this little spider is doing his bit as well... probably gobbling up a lot of other pests as he goes along. He had strung a web between the two plants and wanders back and forth in his own time. Ambling around the garden watching nature at work is something I never tire of... it is something not to be taken for granted........................
