Maybe he just has his eye on the grapes, but whichever way it goes, I think there will be a feeding frenzy before long and the Blackbirds won't be alone in gobbling up the spoils.

Well, I suppose there's plenty to share, but any ideas I had of making wine are right out the window for now, especially with Starlings and Mynas chomping their way through the garden as well.

RIPENING TOMATOES, HUMID DAYS AND MORE RAIN AHEAD...

Four of the plants have come out already after showing signs of stress and blight. I sprayed them a couple of weeks ago with Yates Copper Oxychloride and the others look really healthy, but just to be sure, removing these ones seemed prudent.

Fortunately, there are plenty of spare plants coming along well, but I will need to plant them well away from the affected area. Meanwhile, green tomatoes cover window sills and the sheltered area outside: ripening quickly and plenty left over for another batch of Green Tomato Chutney.

We are well into summer already, but haven't seen much of it so far, although today was magnificent after so much rain. A quick dash down to the supermarket for a couple of things, then just pottering about sending Green Shield Beetles off to a better place before spraying Passion Vine nymphs with soapy water. Boy! They love the Hibiscus, citrus and Passion fruit.
